Abstract:

In this paper we consider multi-user multi-antenna MIMO systems, and in particular different ways of scheduling resources (e.g. time, channel, beams) across the users.  We focus on mathematical programming formulations on the downlink of a high rate matrix modulated OFDM-MIMO system, but encompass also related problems formulations in other block transmission methods (such as CDMA, or Chip-interleaved block modulation, and similar schemes).  In addition, we review integer programming solutions to subcarrier antenna assignments in single and multi-user OFDM-MIMO systems, in a simultaneous effort of reducing peak-to-average ratio in the transmitter power amplifiers and of improving multi-user diversity effect.
