Deliverables D1.2.1, D2.1.2, and D3.1.1 released on July 1, 2007.
Deliverable D2.1.2 focuses on selected transceiver algorithms for multi-user MIMO com- munication systems which constitute a ma jor implementation challenge. The report describes these key algorithms, introduces suitable optimizations for complexity reduction, proposes suitable low-complexity hardware architectures and discusses the associated implementation trade-offs.
Deliverable D3.1.1 discusses several performance tradeoffs in MU-MIMO systems. We start by surveying the key diversity-multiplexing tradeoff for narrowband MIMO channels developed by Zheng and Tse. Then, the tradeoff is extended to the time, frequency and time-frequency selective case by applying the concept of “Jensen channel.” Next, we elaborate the effect of multi-access interference by resorting to interference functions, which are used to optimize specific quality-of-service goals.
